Buckley Speaks on Hospitality Contracts
Carolyn Buckley spoke to the New Orleans Chapter of the National Association for Catering and Events on “Identifying and Understanding Key Contract Provisions in Hospitality Agreements.” The presentation was on Wednesday, August 7, at 11:15 a.m. at Tableau.
In her presentation, Carolyn provided insight on "red flag" words or clauses in hospitality contracts. While contracts vary depending on the subject matter, certain provisions are often used universally, including indemnity provisions, force majeure provisions, liability provisions, and governing law provisions. Carolyn discussed these commonly used provisions as well as provisions that are specific to certain types of contracts, such as non-competition clauses in employment agreements. Attendees learned how to identify and understand these important provisions when negotiating hospitality agreements.
