03.10.2016

King, Krebs & Jurgens is pleased to present the 2nd Annual VetLaunch “From Combat to Careers” Accelerator Pitch Competition, where nine veterans vying to become entrepreneurs will compete to win a start-up package that will help launch his or her venture. The event, part of New Orleans Entrepreneur Week, will be held on Monday, March 14th, at The Chicory from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.

The veterans, part of VetLaunch's Business Accelerator Class of 2016, will present their business models to a team of judges with the hopes of earning a $5,000 prize package to help start their venture. Each candidate will have three minutes to present their concept, followed by another five minutes to field questions about their business model. The judges will convene after all pitches are completed and select a competition winner the same day.

The competition is the culmination of the multi-week VetLaunch Accelerator Program, which strives to harness the leadership experience of military veterans as a resource for creating successful businesses. The Accelerator Program is specifically tailored to Veterans, and covers such topics as how to start a business, choose a legal structure, decipher accounting requirements, market a business, and more. King, Krebs & Jurgens attorneys both presented group instruction to the Program participants and offered individual legal mentoring.
